Begin with what you know.  Even when you say “I don’t know.” or “I can’t speak English.”
you are saying it in English and that is something.  What else don’t you know?
Say it! 🙂  I don’t know….. tomato.
I don’t know….. complexity.
Then the other person will know to start from tomato and work their way up to spaghetti sauce.
