There is always hope.
We are all human, and that means we do scary things when we are scared. Things like building nuclear weapons systems.
But we also perform noble deeds, and act with kindness.
One Soviet soldier, Stanislav Petrov, did not start a nuclear war when the Soviet missile warning system told him that he should have.
One American soldier,Harry Shoup, told little children he was Santa Claus when they called his secret phone by accident. Today we still have our nuclear weapons systems, but on this night at least, they bring us a little joy.  NORAD has a Santa Tracker!  You can use it to see where Santa is in the world, and when he will come to you! 🙂
